Happy Holidays From the Vitters
December 22, 2009
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you and your loved ones.
As we wrap up 2009 and look forward to a new year, I wanted to send a special note telling you how fortunate Wendy and I feel that we have so many wonderful people on Team Vitter.
Wendy and I will certainly be counting all of you among our blessings as we spend Christmas with our children, Sophie, Lise, Airey and Jack. And we hope you are able to enjoy a happy and safe holiday with your loved ones as well.
We are will also very thankful and proud of the men and women who sacrifice to serve in our Armed Forces to protect all of us here at home. They often have to spend the holidays away from their family and friends, and we join their loved ones in praying for their safe return.
As we reminded you at Thanksgiving, if you’d like to send a message thanking the troops for all they’ve done, you can do so by visiting the U.S. Department of Defense website or following this link.
Once again, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! We look forward to sharing a wonderful 2010 with you.
Your friend,
David Vitter

December 18, 2009
We scored a big victory when Majority Leader Harry Reid canceled his New Orleans government health care fundraiser last week, but another serious issue has just come up.
In their efforts to elect Charlie Melancon and give President Obama another much-needed vote, the Washington-based Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) has launched a desperate smear campaign against me.
That’s why I’m calling upon my generous network of grassroots activists to help me keep up the fight against them by making a contribution to my campaign. We’re close to reaching our 2009 goal, with just handful of donations from different parts across the state, we shouldn’t have a problem closing out the year.
I’ve held over 60 town halls in Louisiana this year, and I’m focusing this race on what people have told me they want to see from their Senator — a fight to stop the government takeover of health care, to curb Washington’s reckless spending and prevent government intrusion into our personal lives.
But Melancon and the DSCC are confusing voters and avoiding the facts and the issues. They don’t want to focus on Charlie Melancon’s 84% voting record with President Obama or his failure to have a town hall meeting with his fellow Louisianians in over 200 days as of this week.
That’s right. Charlie Melancon hasn’t held a town hall with his constituents in over 200 days, but the DSCC doesn’t seem to care. I don’t know about you, but I believe that Senators, as representatives of the people, should meet with them from time to time.
The bottom line is, we have to close the books on 2009 in two weeks, and I want to make sure that we can fight back against the Obama – DSCC money machine for the good of Louisiana. People need to know that they are simply trying to give Obama another vote in the Senate, and their tactics are unacceptable.
I won’t back down no matter what they throw at me, and I can use all the help I can get. Please help us fight the attacks by making a secure online donation today!
Harry Reid invades New Orleans
December 10, 2009
I’ve just received some very urgent news that I need to share with you.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, President Obama’s leader in the Senate, is holding a fundraiser in New Orleans this weekend to generate support for government run health care and socialized medicine. Will you help me match his efforts dollar for dollar?
I need your immediate help to counteract Harry Reid’s efforts to buy votes and air time in Louisiana as he tries to force this health care bill on the American people. Your contribution of $25, $50 or any amount you can give right now will help me match his efforts and keep up the fight against him.
I’ve seen the invitation to this fundraiser. With liberal big name hosts like James Carville, tickets to this event are going for a whopping $1,000 each.
That means for each person in attendance, $1000 will be dropped into the Obama-Reid-Melancon war chest as they try to take control of the health care industry and give Obama another reliable Senate vote come 2010.
I need your help to tell Harry Reid, Charlie Melancon and President Obama that this bill is wrong for Louisiana, regardless of how much money their wealthiest supporters are willing to cough up.
Will you help me push forward with a modest donation of $25 or $50 right now to help me match and fight back against their efforts?
I wish fundraising weren’t a part of campaigning. But the fact is, with big name liberal Obama allies like James Carville, Charlie Melancon and Harry Reid, we need to match the funds they raise to fight back. And with our dedicated network of grassroots supporters like yourself, I’m sure we can get the job done.
We are also three weeks away from our 2009 fundraising deadline, so your support is now more important than ever before. I hope I can count on you to help me fight back with a donation of $25, $50 or whatever you can contribute today and to forward this email to anyone you know who is concerned about government-run health care.
Thank you for your support in this fight, and I hope to see you soon.
